Goods prohibited for export from the USA

Dear users of the Easyship service. Below is the list of goods that we do not deliver to Russia (the most frequently ordered goods). Please do not order the following goods:

  • Cosmetics containing alcohol: alcohol-based lotions, Mist (from the Victoria's Secret store), perfumes, eau de parfum
  • Quadcopters, drones and accessories for them
  • Li-ion batteries: power banks, jump starters (for starting a car), phone cases with a built-in battery
  • Li-ion batteries over 100 Wh, as well as batteries supplied separately from devices
  • Miners, their parts and accessories
  • Car parts: car and motorcycle struts (shock absorbers), airbags (including in the steering wheel)
  • Unprocessed natural  materials
  • Thermal imagers, including as a phone accessory
  • Echo sounders, sonars, their parts and accessories
  • Pressurised containers. For example: hairsprays, shaving foam, pressurised deodorants
  • Yeast
  • Laser devices. For example: pointers, laser measuring instruments
  • Toughbooks (Toughbook) and other ruggedised laptops, tablets and phones
  • Specialised "military"-style clothing and footwear (camouflage clothing) for hunting and fishing. Any goods in "protective" or "camouflage" colours
  • any knives, except kitchen knives and those that are part of a multitool
  • pulse oximeters
  • Goods on the sanctions lists of the USA (updated 19 May 2023) and the European Union (of 15 March 2022, 16 December 2022 , 25 February 2023)
  • Any bags, wallets, any cosmetics, including make-up. 
  • Any appliances and electronics (mobile phones are allowed up to 750 EUR)
  • Any clothing and footwear over 300 EUR
  • Photo cameras, video cameras, speaker systems
  • any navigation equipment and parts for it
  • spare parts for motorcycles and cars included in the sanctions lists
  • toys 
  • sunglasses or corrective glasses, contact lenses and lens solution

Goods completely prohibited from the USA
Animals, plants, fruit, vegetable and agricultural crops
The following types of products containing animal or plant ingredients may be restricted for shipping and/or require an export permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. You may be asked to specify the genus, species and country of production for classification purposes. Please check the information with our specialists in advance before shipping to our warehouse:

 

  • Taxidermy (stuffed animals);
  • Horns, bones, claws, hair, fur, hides, teeth;
  • Skin of snakes, alligators, crocodiles, lizards and other reptiles;
  • Fish skin, shark teeth, bones and cartilage, roe, milt, fry;
  • Insects;
  • Bird feathers;
  • Corals, shells, starfish, sea urchins and other marine fauna;
  • Natural pearls, including in watches, jewellery, musical instruments, etc.
  • Seeds, plants, soil/earth and other agricultural crops.

 

Goods prohibited for carriage by the IATA airline association

 

  • Mineral and organic fertilisers;
  • Paints, varnishes, wood stain, solvents;
  • Acetone, nail polish removers;
  • Any aerosols, including hairsprays, insect repellents, shaving creams in cans and any other containers with gas, including CO2 cartridges;
  • Glues and adhesives;
  • Dyes, including hair dyes;
  • Window and kitchen surface cleaners, oven cleaners and drain uncloggers;
  • De-icing fluid;
  • Antibacterial hand gels containing alcohol;
  • Aquarium water kits;
  • Large or strong magnets; 
  • Lead-acid batteries/accumulators;
  • Airbags, pumps;
  • Pressurised goods (spray cans, etc.)
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phone, its batteries and chargers
  • hoverboards
  • alcoholic products, products containing ethyl alcohol, beer
  • flammable goods
  • products with minoxidil (usually hair growth stimulants)
  • Flea collars and sprays
  • Pet food, supplements for animals and other pet care products (including fish food and aquarium care products)
  • Li-ion batteries and accumulators supplied separately from devices

 

Other categories of goods
Goods belonging to a state or the government cannot be exported from the USA. For example, car licence plates issued by a state and given to US citizens for temporary use. Sending them abroad is an offence.

 Some goods, their spare parts and accessories relating to special developments are prohibited for export. For example:

  • Aircraft parts, aviation equipment (gyroscopes, accelerometers);
  • Rocket and space products, engines;
  • Telecommunications and engineering security equipment using high-tech encryption and decryption algorithms;
  • High-power lasers and sensors;
  • Equipment for extracting and processing raw materials (for example, pressure control valves, pumps and pipelines).

 

As well as:

 

  • Drones, quadcopters and similar aircraft 
  • Human organs and/or tissues, blood and its components, human and animal embryos, human remains;
  • Any unidentified materials, powders, containers with liquid or gaseous substances without labels, tags and/or the name and manufacturer;
  • Printed photographs of unknown origin without copyright; photo negatives.
  • Household, medical and other waste;

 

Medicines and dietary supplements
Any medicines regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), prescription and over-the-counter (OTC). As well as dietary supplements and vitamins if they:

 

  • arrived at the warehouse from other countries. All medicines and dietary supplements must be labelled and certified in accordance with the rules of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA);
  • their names and the information on the packaging are not duplicated in English;
  • the packaging is open or damaged on arrival at the warehouse;
  • do not comply with the FDA Labeling Guidelines;
  • their ingredients contain substances not approved by the FDA.

 

Alcoholic products and smoking accessories
The export of all alcoholic products, tobacco products and smoking mixtures, as well as electronic cigarettes, hookahs, bongs, their components, accessories and any other smoking devices, is prohibited.
Monetary instruments, gems, precious metals and stones
EasyShip's rules do not allow the export of any monetary instruments or monetary obligations, or precious metals and stones. Such goods will, where possible, be returned to the sender or disposed of. In particular, cheques, cards and other financial instruments are destroyed by shredding. Other goods in this category cannot be sent to a US address other than the sender's address. 

 

  • US currency (coins, banknotes) of any year of issue;
  • banknotes and currency of other countries in circulation; 
  • bank cards, prepaid and gift cards;
  • cheques, including travellers' cheques;
  • securities (shares, bonds, promissory notes);
  • lottery tickets;
  • silver, gold, platinum in the form of ore or bullion;
  • uncut precious stones;
  • loose precious and semi-precious stones not set in jewellery.

Weapons, military equipment, items for military and tactical use

 

Goods relating to combat equipment, tactical or military use, firearms, bladed, traumatic and civilian weapons, as well as items structurally similar to them, namely:

 

  • Shotguns, rifles, pistols and other firearms and parts;
  • Airsoft and paintball weapons and parts;
  • Replicas, collectible firearms and bladed weapons;
  • Ceramic and folding knives, as well as hunting and any other knives, including for military and tactical use;
  • Swords (including training swords), katanas, sabres, rapiers, machetes;
  • Crossbows, bows (including disassembled ones and their components), arrows, arrowheads;
  • Spearguns, harpoons;
  • Bayonets and bayonet cartridges.
  • Night vision devices, including binoculars, accessories and mounting parts . Thermal imagers, including those that connect to a phone

 Easyship does not ship the above goods by any delivery method

Non-lethal weapons (gas pistols, rubber bullet pistols and other traumatic weapons), including:

 

  • Stun guns;
  • Gas canisters and pepper sprays;
  • Knuckle dusters of any type and similar items;
  • Batons, truncheons;
  • Metal handcuffs and plastic restraints.

Spare parts, components and accessories for weapons, including:

 

  • Magazines, cartridges, bullets, casings and other ammunition, including deactivated; 
  • Equipment for making bullets, reloading, etc. (for example, cartridge presses); 
  • Gunpowder; 
  • Stocks, gun barrels, firing pins, strikers, pins, upper and lower receivers, rifle mounts and bipods, trigger housings, triggers, etc.; 
  • Sights, including laser and collimator sights, reticles for optical sights and other aiming devices; 
  • Night vision devices; 
  • Guidance devices, viewfinders; 
  • Gun cases, slings, cartridge belts.

  Easyship does not ship the above goods by any delivery method

Some household tools:

 

  • Axes;
  • Saws;
  • Hammers.

 

Army gear and camouflage uniforms, uniforms of special services, military-style clothing, including:

 

  • Army uniforms, as well as any other items, gear and ammunition (mugs, bowls, ration packs, survival kits, backpacks, tents, etc.);
  • Uniforms of the police and other service units;
  • Army helmets, caps and other headgear for military and tactical use;
  • Body armour/Kevlar, including bulletproof vests, plates, etc.;
  • Camouflage suits and their parts (including ghillie suits for hunting);
  • Vests and backpacks with cartridge belts and ammunition compartments;
  • Gas masks, respirators and their components, filters;
  • Military gear of past years, historical and collectible items (including from the Second World War);
  • Insignia: original medals, orders, patches and other insignia.

Military and tactical training aids and manuals
Training aids for the military and special units in the form of books, magazines, video and audio materials. 
Poisonous/toxic substances and goods dangerous for transportation
Some products may be classified as goods dangerous for transportation or requiring special transport conditions. The list below serves as a guide but is not exhaustive, and many substances may fall under a number of other classifications depending on their ingredients. 
If goods are deemed prohibited, EasyShip will not be able to export them or even return them to the sender within the USA.

 

  • Radioactive materials, including irradiating devices and fixtures;
  • Poisonous and toxic substances;
  • Any biological substances and compounds, infected and pathogenic substances, samples and specimens;
  • Tear gas;
  • Laboratory chemical reagents and compounds: corrosive substances, alkaline solutions and other strongly basic compounds;
  • Chemicals used in agriculture: herbicides, insecticides, pesticides, fungicides, etc.;
  • Oxidising agents;
  • Chemical oxygen sources, oxygen masks and generators;
  • Nitrates and nitrites;
  • Hydrogen peroxide, coal and activated carbon, potassium permanganate.

 

Explosive and flammable substances and materials dangerous for transportation

 

  • Detonating cords, blasting caps, fuses, detonators, igniter cartridges and spark plugs;
  • Fireworks, rockets, firecrackers;
  • Igniters, rocket engines;
  • Lighters with fuel, matches;
  • Fire extinguishers, filled scuba cylinders, etc.
  • Individual ration packs containing heating elements.

 

Narcotic substances
Drugs and substances whose circulation is controlled by government authorities, as well as prohibited substances, including narcotics, marijuana, hashish and psychotropic drugs:

 

  • Any unidentified powders, liquids and tablets;
  • Pharmaceutical and chemical substances and reagents;
  • Synthetic marijuana, smoking herbs and incense.

 

Electronics for military or industrial use
EasyShip does not accept for shipping electronic devices and their components if they require an export licence from the Bureau of Industry and Security of the U.S. Department of Commerce (BIS) or from the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls of the U.S. Department of State (DDTC).
The following types of electronic devices and components used for military, commercial and other non-civilian purposes are not shipped to individuals and/or outside the USA:

 

  • Integrated circuits and processors for industrial and military use;
  • Microprocessor ICs, microcontrollers and similar components;
  • Satellite phones;
  • Rugged laptops "Toughbooks" (Toughbook, Toughpad); 
  • Field-grade computer systems;
  • High-power industrial-grade network devices (servers, routers, etc.);
  • Any electronics used in the defence industry;
  • High-tech encryption devices;
  • Robotics for industrial or military use;
  • Biometric authentication devices;
  • Radars, sonars and high-tech GPS;
  • High-tech communication equipment;
  • Covert surveillance cameras;
  • Bugs and other tracking devices.

 

Batteries and accumulators of any type 
Batteries and accumulators of any type up to 100 Wh are allowed only as part of devices (no more than 2 per parcel). Shipping separately from devices by any method is not allowed.

 Perishable goods and foodstuffs

  • Dry ice;
  • Biological substances and compounds;
  • Laboratory reagents;
  • Live bait;
  • Flowers, plants;
  • Green coffee;
  • Frozen foods and semi-finished products;
  • Any perishable products requiring refrigeration or other temperature control.

 

Dental, veterinary and medical equipment
 EasyShip does not accept for shipping professional medical equipment if a medical permit or medical licence is required for its import/export. The description of many such goods will state “RX Only” or “US Law Restricts the Sale of this Device For or On the Order of a Physician”. Professional medical equipment includes:

 

  • dental instruments and materials (for example: a dental drill and bits for it, filling materials, etc.);
  • veterinary devices and materials (for example, surgical instruments for animals);
  • medical equipment and materials (for example, syringes, needles, surgical instruments).

 

Cultural property and works of art
Sending abroad cultural property and works of art that require mandatory certification by the Ministry of Culture is not allowed.
Counterfeits, contraband or goods infringing copyright
 EasyShip does not accept for shipping any identified "pirated" products, including films, CDs and DVDs, software, electronics, clothing, bags and wallets, sunglasses, etc. If such goods are found at the warehouse, all counterfeits will be confiscated and destroyed!
Goods with Nazi symbols
The EasyShip service does not accept for shipping any goods and information on printed, audiovisual and other media aimed at promoting Nazi paraphernalia or symbols, or paraphernalia or symbols confusingly similar to Nazi paraphernalia or symbols.
Such goods include:

 

  • Magazines, books, video discs;
  • Coins, medals, tokens;
  • Clothing, headwear.

 

Industrial equipment

 

  • Rugged laptops (toughbook) and tablets.
  • Drones, quadcopters and similar aircraft

 

Pornographic content

 

  • Videos and films rated NC-17;
  • Posters, magazines, books, etc. of pornographic content;
  • Any erotic material depicting minors.

 

Restricted goods from the USA
Over-the-counter (OTC) dietary supplements and vitamins
Such goods may be restricted for export. The user is responsible for the products' compliance with the import legislation of the country of destination. Dietary supplements include:

 

  • vitamins;
  • minerals;
  • herbal raw materials;
  • amino acids
  • concentrates, metabolites, ingredients, extracts or combinations of any of the above substances.

 

Nail polish
Cannot be shipped by any method
Perfume and eau de toilette
Cannot be shipped by any method
Nail gels
Can be shipped by the EasyShip Express method in small quantities. The gel must not contain alcohol. 
Liquids
Any liquids with a total volume of more than 1 litre in one parcel. Please note that the total volume is calculated when parcels are scanned at customs. Even if the weight on the packaging of your cosmetic or other product is given in grams, the scanner will still recognise it as a liquid. 
Jewellery
Jewellery worth more than $2,500 is not exported by post. Delivery is possible only via the EasyShip Express delivery method, with the real value stated in the customs documents and payment of customs duty. If the jewellery is classified as cultural property or antiques, delivery is not possible. 
Please note: a piece of jewellery and its certificate cannot be shipped in the same parcel. A piece of jewellery and its certificate can only be shipped in separate parcels.
Goods not certified in Russia
If goods have not been certified in Russia, importing them into the country is formally an offence.
We can export these goods by postal methods, but be prepared to handle their import and any possible disputes with customs yourself.

Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Sudan, Syria. Shipping to Crimea is also prohibited
