Apple will not increase smartphone sizes with every new model.

According to DigiTimes, in 2020 Apple plans to launch three new iPhones with OLED displays in different sizes. The screen sizes will be 5.42, 6.06, and 6.67 inches. Particularly interesting is the claim about the release of a 5.42-inch model — it could be the successor to the compact iPhone SE, which was released back in 2016. The 6.06-inch iPhone is expected to become the successor to the iPhone XR, while the 6.67-inch screen will go to the new flagship.

In addition, the 5.42-inch model may use Samsung Display’s Y-Octa flexible display technology or  LG Display's TOE, which will make it possible to eliminate the layer between the screen and the touch panel and create a more compact device while reducing costs.

For comparison: last year’s iPhone XR has a 6.1-inch display, the iPhone XS has a 5.8" display, and the iPhone XS Max has a 6.46-inch display. In 2019, the company does not plan to change smartphone sizes.

The 6.06-inch iPhone should become the successor to the iPhone XR.

As for iPhone sales in 2019, according to estimates from sources, Apple will sell 80-82 million iPhone devices in the first half of 2019 and around 180-190 million devices for the full year,
